All these places have been used by either friends or prospective puppy buyers so are recommended.
We are very close to the quaint seaside town of Southwold which hosts a pier, lighthouse, boating
lake and any other Enid Blyton type holiday things you can think of. It does get very busy during
the school holidays so you might need to think of the local places being less easy to book.
There are plenty of pubs with good food, dog and child friendly and lots of great walks, either
costal or through Dunwich and Minsmere nature reserves.
This a couple of minutes drive away from us, very pretty with delicious food
and an excellent host in the form of Sarah Jupp.
This is just up the road from us, so easy to find. It is run by Margaret and
John Benson (as in the retired jazz musician), so lots of interesting chat and a comfortable room.
My excellent friend Gina and family always stay here when I can lure them up to
Suffolk. The only downside is that it is above a pub, but the owners are friendly, extremely
helpful and the rooms and food are good!
The Plough Inn
The only downside to this place is that its sits just back from the A12, BUT it has
good food and nice rooms and we go to eat there every now and then (when we can escape).
If you want to splash out, the Crown (and its sister hotel The Swan) are fabulous ...
This 6 foot blonde Russian who runs this b&b is a friend of mine; she is just wonderful - enough said!
Situated just up the road from us and on the lovely Henham Estate, we have had many families stay here and rave about it.
